Inaugural Native Plant Restoration Event

Join Panorama Natural Burial as we work towards restoring the native plant ecosystem in our corner of Albemarle County!

We are partnering with Hummingbird Hill Native Plant Nursery in encouraging the healthy evolution of our woods and meadow lands at the burial ground. After several consultations with the amazing folks at  Hummingbird Hill, we have settled on two small areas at PNB to begin our restoration efforts. We will begin by discouraging established non-native and invasive species and cultivating a diverse population of native species. Hummingbird Hill has recommended many native species that should be found in our ecosystem but are not present, and we will be introducing over 30 new species together in this initial restoration event! We invite any and all friends of Panorama to join us in our planting efforts!

Please dress appropriately for weather and for the Earth-based tasks at hand, and bring your own spade and gardening gloves. We will have field guides on hand for identifying the native plants we are introducing, and hope that attendees will be able to add to their native plant knowledge during our time together! We welcome folks to take part in PNB's Restoration Committee in the future as we create more ways for folks to collaborate in stewarding this beautiful land.
